GUNK brand carb cleaner is about as good as it gets, but thanks to the EPA, even the Gunk is not nearly as good as it used to be. The old time carb cleaner was powerful enough that you DID NOT get it on your skin. It would take the skin off your fingers if you did.

No matter what you use, you need to finish the cleaning process with a can of aerosol carb and choke cleaner. Stick that nozzle right into the various ports and holes and spray until it comes out somewhere else.
