On your clutch.My C had a bad throw out bearing on it that did much the same thing you described.You will have to split your tractor to replace it if that turns out to be the case. I dreaded that and put it off a long time but was not bad all.Borrowed an engine hoist from a buddy of mine and had the thing in half alot faster than I thought it would take.The bearing was not hard at all to replace and not very high. Mine had been spinning around on the shaft. The other thing you might check, and I dont have my manual in front of me, is the play in the clutch pedal. I think it should have about 1 5/8 inchs of free travel in it. There will be an adjustment for that if that turns out to be the problem. Hope some guys a lot smarter than me can add some more ideas to help you out. I just bought a B for $250 and I'm sure I will running into a lot of the same things.
