Phil you will get about any answer on the oil. I would recommend you drop the oil pan and see if you have a bunch of sludge. Make sure the oil inlet screen on the oil pump is thoroughly cleaned. If you don't have sludge, then the engine probably has had detergent oil for quite awhile. I use detergent SAE 30 in my Hs.
