The old cars had 12 volts with external resistor into the 60's . The voltage was dropped to 9 volts on them . But 6 volts would probably be better . Not sure how to tell if a coil has an internal resistor . Does this coil give 12 volts at start , then drop when the key is turned to run ? Curious ...
Most likely was nine volts all the time ?
Point life is the concern of cource ..
