Are you sure it was oil? Are you really sure it was oil? Reason I ask is I'm wondering if maybe you have a cracked head/blown head gasket and you are hydro locking the motor when you put the plugs in it. Something bent those push rods that you guys got straightened out. I would love to know why.
If it has a distributor drive hydraulic pump on it I would make sure too that it isn't puking it's guts into the crankcase as well, (this wouldn't have any effect on the inability to turn it over though).
