My question would be is what caused the exhaust push rod to break. Once the exhaust rod is broken the intake most likely bent as a result of trying to open the intake valve against the combustion pressure that is still in the cylinder.
Examining the break in the exhaust push rod should give some clues as to why it broke. Most likely it is a fatigue break do to being run with a slight bend. If the push rod bends even a slight amount each time it opens a valve due to the bend, it will eventually break. The break line will not be smooth but will have evidence if breaking a little bit spread over time.
