After much hair pulling and going in circles, I discovered that the amp gauge had gone to ground. Now the next thing I need to know is about the hydraulics. I looked all over that valve casting assembly and could not find a check plug. Does it use the transmission oil for the hydraulics? I checked the rearend and oil came out when I loosened the plug. There is an oil cap in front of where the distributor is mounted. I take it this is where engine oil is added. One step at a time, I guess. Thanks for the input.
