Help! Snow plowing with Cub

My friend and I have been using his Cub to plow snow. It has a front mounted scraper blade. The problem is a lack of traction on asphault and concrete. The tractor has loaded ag tires and rear weights but even 1/4" of snow causes the tractor to get stuck sometimes. Do chains make a big difference? What about ways to add more weight to the tractor? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
