From what I have read, only the Super A (I?)with the 123 ci engine with a water pump had the water temp gauge, which I think was mounted on two of the governor bolts, I have also read where people put temp gauges on 113 ci engines, the probe was put in the lower radiator hose engine side neck, there is an area there that can be drilled and threaded for it to be mounted. On the touch control gauge, if the wire was not broken off, as your's is, then they took the probe out completely and put a pipe plug in to seal the hole. If you really want the gauge, it mounts up by the touch control levers, I have one on a '53 Super A, even with two hours of mowing it does not get hot, I think it only gets hot when there are problems with the hydraulic system. I also have a '48 Super A without the gauge, also if you have/want the gauge, the hydraulic filter, (where the probe is mounted) is a couple dollars more than the one without the hole! If you want I could take a pic of the hydraulic gauge location in a day or two.
