What is the purpose of the gear shift lever designed to push down? (spring on top of cap under a washer and cotter pin through the shifting lever) I can push down very hard and my 1953 Farmall Cub will go in gear sometimes. Other times I have to play with the shift lever a lot to get the Cub in gear or get it out of gear. Is there something under the cap to hold the lever down,that is worn? Does someone have a diagram of the shift lever and operation of it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, ephhs
