Harold H. had a good posting on that and maybe he can shed some more light on it. But in my experience the name "Farmall" was used as the name on row crop tractors. Utilities, industrials, crawlers and the like were named "International". Farmall was not a division of IH, but rather, the name applied to row crop tractors.
