Hi all, I recently have gotten myself two h's and i have been working to restore one back to running condition. One i bought has terrible rubber on it, and rims rusted out, but brand new rebuilt engine. 2nd one is a 1948 i believe and it was restored with a 6 volt system, how ever the owner died and it was left outside in the rain.. eventually filling the engine to the top with water. Its a shame too because someone spend a lot of time and money to restore it. I swapped the good engine into the good restored tractor so far, and that's where I am now.
the 1946 tractor has a magneto on it from what i understand, and the 1948 has a distributor. I want to make sure I get the correct parts for it, so if anyone could give me any info on it that would be awesome. I am going to attach 2 pictures I have of numbers that i found on it. I believe it is the IH one and not the delco. I may convert it to electric ignition, i haven't really decided yet but would like to keep my options open. If anyone could tell me which of the 2 kits i'd need would be awesome too. thanks!
I think this is the kit i need.. https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Farmall-H_Electronic-Ignition-Conversion-Kit-12V-Negative-Ground_1442.html

Today's Featured Article - The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
