A lot of these engines seem to run slow when they are cold. There is a fix to this problem. When you take the carburater off you will find a flat washer about an inch in diameter attached with a small screw. This is basically the throttle. Remove the screw and flat washer. There will be a small lock washer between the screw head and the flat washer. Put the lock washer under the flat washer and reassemble. What this does is move the flat washer away from the carb body and allows more air to go into the engine.
