I don't have a major protest on replacing the field, many on here don't bother and have no issues. The starter drive is spiraled out on its helix from inertia of the drive on the shaft. A 6v starter on 12v spins up faster. The new drive is the real deal, and solves the problem. Not a Flame!! Jim
