Picked up a very straight, and original 1940 (I think) Farmall H.
S/N 74011. Stuck, but been sitting inside for over 30 years. Got it soaking and moving a little today.
Has been converted to disc brakes, using IH parts.
Noticed clutch housing is cracked from lower RH side of Liftall opening, way up the side. Looks to have been Ved out and brazed by someone who knew what they were doing! Beautiful repair, and adds character, I think.
Noticed almost every H I see is cracked or has been repaired in this area. Some with loaders, others that never have had one.
Any idea what caused this? Any differences in castings over the years?
