I've owned a 1966 140 since new. That would happen once a winter before I switched to electronic ignition. I learned not to bother trouble-shooting--I'd just swap cap and rotor and she'd fire right up. The old ones may still be good--clean them up and try them again in the summer. If good, keep them in reserve for next winter.
