That lever on the left is your TA lever, forward for high and back for low. Low is about 25% slower than high. High is driven through a hydraulic clutch and low is driven through a mechanical sprag clutch. I think you'll find the sprag clutch has failed, hence no low, and your MCV pump which supplies hydraulic pressure for high range badly needs rebuilding. Hence slippage in high, under heavy loads. Explains also, why your brakes aren't much good. MCV pump repair is simple once you remove it from the side panel where your TA lever connects to. This will give you high TA power again. To repair sprag clutch, will mean splitting tractor and installing new TA. If you go this way install the new style mechanical diode TA. Regards, Redfan.
