That's a good point you would think the metal would sink to the bottom. But, the metal trash is always on the intake side of the filter. I wonder if the pressure relief for the pump is located near the fluid intake for the filter. Hope to find out soon, I've ordered the manuals and when I get them I'll be looking for the fluid flow diagram. Thanks for the ideas.
