I recently acquired a really nice 1979 ih 686 tractor. However, it needs a few repairs. When I got the tractor, the only lights that worked were the two headlights on the fenders. I found a hole burned in the back of the turn signal switch/flasher unit. I replaced this switch and had flashers but still not the correct headlights. I have now replaced the main light switch and all of the lights work, but the flashers never stop flashing. I know that on other 666 and 686s that I am familiar with the flashers stop flashing when the main light switch is on the last position. I can't see where any of the wiring has been disturbed and I am wondering if they made a change to that flasher and keep them flashing all the time. If anyone out here is familiar with this situation I would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.
