Pull the shift lever housing off, line up the 'neutral gate' so all shift rails are in line and drop your shifter back in so it goes in the neutral gate. Once you take it out you will see how it works,very simple.What most likely has happened your shift lever finger on bottom of lever is worn and slipped over or thru the shift rails. Be careful when you lift the lever out, there are detent balls under the springs, don't let the springs come up out of their holes. Mark
