I have one that will do that if I am too quick to shift. Try putting it back in reverse and then moving it to neutral to see if you can get it to work. On mine I put it in reverse and then push the shifter all the way to the right while I put it back in neutral. Then it catches. It will be fine for months and months and I forget about it until all of the sudden I am jammed.
