Hmm. Sorry I don't know the exact answers here. I'm just working off basic electrical principles and what I can observe, exactly how I would be doing it if the tractor were in my shop.
Looking at the original style glow plugs, it appears that there are TWO electrical connections, terminals, on them. One above the pink washer, and one below the pink washer.
If you have those wired up like the updated plugs, in parallel, it's no wonder you are burning plugs out. You need to wire them in series.
Looks like it should be, using the picture of the engine, and the wiring diagram from the parts book:
1. From the resistor to above the pink washer on #1
2. From below the pink washer on #1 to above the pink washer on #2.
3. From below the pink washer on #2 to above the pink washer on #3.
4. From below the pink washer on #3 to above the pink washer on #4.
5. From below the pink washer on #4 to the engine block.
Someone must have installed the updated 12V glow plugs at one time, and you've replaced them with the OEM plugs.
OEM plugs are rated for .9V (9/10 Volt per the picture in the other thread). If you pump 12V through them... PIFF!
