painting a farmall h

I am about to embark on my first painting experience. I have a 45 H with original paint. There is some rust, but the tractor has always be stored inside. My questions are: 1. should I sand blast before painting, or will this cause more harm than good? I have heard that it will warp the sheet metal. 2. how much should I plan on spending on a good gravity spray gun - or is this the way to go? 3. any other advice would be very much appreciated. I am going to get some videos and books, but talking to someone who has been there seems to work best. - Thanks
