For a weight transfer pull, get pressed steel wheels , no calcium, drop most of back weight (most sleds have short chains that pull down on your drawbar); get the 560 in about the 7000 lb class; and never, never let up on the throttle. Momentum is everything on a transfer sled. Did I stress wide open, if you back off the throttle, you might as well turn off the key!!! Most of those sleds drag a little dirt - you'll notice the top pullers yank it off the starting line like they're mad at it - this yanks the sled pan up so that it doesn't dozer dirt. If you're timid on a transfer sled, you lose. Did i say, wide open and never back off.
