If you are in the right place at the right time, you can buy good tractors for less than $7,000. My dad bought an 806 Diesel for $5,500 and a 856 Diesel for $4,500. We use them for the baling and mowing. We use H's and M's for the raking. Sometimes, we use the H's and M's for moving the bales with a home made pull type carrier. I am going to put a 3pt hitch on my M and use a carrier with it. We used sickle bar mowers for a long time, but we finally bought a disc mower. I would say that an 806 Diesel or an 856 Diesel would be a good tractor for what you are going to do.
