Really didnt have to do too much. Got the tractor and it had no battery. I bought a brand new 6v battery and got new battery cables too. Rebuilt the starter and still had no spark. Cleaned and gapped the points to no avail so I replaced all the plugs, wires, points, condenser, and put a new coil on. Then I had spark but the tractor wouldnt run. I found a nasty hole on the backside of the exhaust manifold, so I threw a new manifold on it too. After all this, the tractor wanted to run, but wouldnt stay running. Until I spun the distributor about 1/4" adjusting the timing. Once I did that she fired right up and still does, and runs strong, like I said. Just a little smokey. Valves maybe? Rings?
