Hi CB, Your right I've never tried it but it does supprise me that the front suspension will last very long with this heavy load. Don't get me wrong I'm all for doing with what a person has or a cheaper way. I have a small manual crane setup in the bed of my pick-up made from 2" pipe. All I did was to take 2 lengths of 2" pipe and weld them together at one end and spread them 24" apart at the other end, added some braces inbetween on a truss design, chain the picking frame into the bed of my pick-up, add a come-along on the picking end. It's not pretty but it works and easy to set up. Of course that was before I got my tractor with a front loader. T_Bone
