Farmall H Cooling System Question

After running my 1942 H for 15 minutes at fast throttle, I noticed the engine was getting hot but the radiator stayed cool. The hoses stayed cool as well. How can I tell if my water pump is working? Is there a simple test I can do to make sure it is in-fact working? Thanks for your ever needed and appreciated help.
