I went through the exact same frustration recently on my 'C'.
I think the sediment bowls have become generic with 1/8'' pipe outlets. I could not find an adapter locally to connect to the original fuel line, 5/16''
Some of the assemblies for sale out there include the adapter but I could not find it by itself.
I ended up ordering another assembly that included the adapter. Some suppliers offer it that way and some don't.
Works good once done. I wanted mine stock as possible.
