Bama Binders Tractor Truisms:

1. You will never be able to get your money out of an antique tractor.

2. To estimate the cost of a restoration, figure out what needs to be done, how much it will cost and then multiply that figure by 3.

3. There is no logic or reason behind the asking price of a tractor...it is simply a matter of what the owner thinks it is worth and whether he can find a buyer at the price he is asking.

4. Certain models and brands cost more than others. It has nothing to do with being rare or useful but a matter of popularity.

5. Some models and brands are more popular than others, but no one really knows why.

6. If you pay more than $1 for a real junker that you plan to restore, you probably paid too much...a fully restored tractor will be cheaper.

7. If you like it and want it and can afford it then you buy it. Nobody else can tell you what tractor to buy or how much you should pay for it.

8. If someone wants more than you want to pay, look elsewhere...there are always other tractors to buy. No tractor ever had a production run of 1.

9. Sellers that want high prices for their tractors usually have an inflated opinion of their tractors and expect others to pay more money for their pride.
