rankrank1, sorry but you are misinformed on how the 9 speed works in a H or M. Nothing ahead of the input shaft. Input shaft is replaced with one having 2 different size gears to drive 2 different size constant mess gears on the counter shaft. Shifter locks one or other set of gears to the counter shaft. When in high range the countershaft is turned faster than standard speed. Since gears 1 though 4, reverse, pto and hydraulic pump are driven from the counter shaft they are affected. Since 5th is just the transmission input shaft locked to the top shaft its speed doesn't change in high or standard range. Picture of a hiesler 9 speed, M&W works on the same principal.
