Could you fellas give me some advice. My wife surprised me yesterday with pictures of a 1066 she wants to buy me for my birthday and I wanted to get your opinions on the tractor itself as well as the asking price. Here's what I know so far. It's a 1066 with the D310 turbo, dual PTO, superb restoration by someone I trust, new paint, tires 80% rear, 100% front, wide front end, new fenders, roll bar with canopy, new guages and wiring, wheel weights. I don't know if he has rebuilt the engine or the engine hours yet. I won't see it until Saturday but from the pictures this is a real beauty. He is asking $8,500 which seems reasonable to me but I'm pretty new at this, not to mention veeerry thrifty! What do you guys think? I currently have a 706 D282 which I need to put some work into but from what I have read is a rock solid machine. Is the 1066 a good tractor? Thanks to all..RR
