Bob, Took another stab at it this afternoon. As per your suggestion checked ground of regulator base. Used a ohmmeter to check reg. base to generator case, then all the way back to battery ground cable. Looked fine. For kicks ran another ground jumper to braided line on regulator base. No dice. Poked around the regulator contacts, Again. What the heck, dragged a piece of emery cloth through them, fired it up and it started charging. Couldn't believe it. Brand new regulator, the contacts looked PERFECT, clean and touching square. I must have snapped them open and closed a dozen times. Go figure. There I was thinking how smart I am and I get a nice big slice of humble pie served up. Really appreciate your help on this. One thing I've learned the hard way is if your stumped and going in circles go do something else for a while, and get someone elses opinion before you scratch your head raw. Thanks again. George
