My SMD had a 400 throttle and a Behlen unit on it when I got it. It worked good but looked rough, so I switched everything back to stock. Since then, I have considered putting the Behlen unit back on and have pondered the exact clearance issues. From measurements taken, it won't clear by about an inch. On youtube I saw a fairly recent video of a SMTAD with a Behlen and what appears to be the stock throttle. I wish I could get a better look at that. Another poster on youtube by the name 1066power has a MD with the throttle shaft moving across to the right hand side via a couple of u-joints. His doesn't have a Behlen on it, but this set up looks like it might clear one.
