Had the same problem pulling my steering arm off. Bubba's right, the propane isn't hot enough. You need a puller and an oxy/acetelene torch. I took mine to a welding/repair shop and they had it taken apart in no time. Put the puller on it, tighten it up and then heat it up. Mine poped right off. Don't let them toss the arm in a tank of water to cool it though, let it cool down slowly. It is tappered and a half-moon key keeps it from turning. You might want them to pull the two halfs apart and help you get the top bearing off, its a press fit and you'll need a press to get it off the shaft. Check the shaft for damage where the seal rides, if it is pitted or grove it will leak when you put it back and you will be sick (Don't ask how I know), you'll need to have it machined and use a different (smalled ID) seal or put a sleeve on it. Mine was so pitted I replaced it, over $100.00 new from IH. Might have one made locally cheaper?? Have the shop press out the 2 bushings too, saves alot of aggrivation. Good luck, Daniel
