I bought a 1066 new in 1975 with a factory cab. The cab was a noise box and ac fans on the back of the cab had to be replaced every year. I was afraid to use the TA because everyone said if you use it you will be putting in a new one. The power stearing was slow and the stearing cylinder on the front axle would get loose. The motor used two plus quarts of oil a day. The three point hitch did not have sway blocks and would let mounted implements sway, making it hard to cultivate corn. Rear wheel wedges were always coming loose...just could not keep them tight. Draft control was jerky...this makes for a relaxing day! The throttle was way up by the windshield (long reach for my arm...just 36 inch sleeve). The seat suspension was junk...a real back killer. The 1066 tractor would not keep up with Dad's 4430 John Deere until I turned it up...just had 110 hp from the factory but it should of had 125 hp...factory mistake. The pto 540 and 1000 shafts were great coming out together. Radiator was easy to clean. My wife loved the red color! That's all I can tell you about a 1066 tractor, hope this helps.
