Light Switch

The Owner's manual for my '48 Cub indicates that the four positions on the light switch are Off/Dim/Bright/Rear. I read in another forum the positions are LowCharge/HighCharge/Dim/Bright. My switch has a resister coil for dim and another resister for low/high charging.
After cleaning and re-installing my switch, the lights operate like the latter. Is this correct or did I assemble the switch incorrectly? Thanks for the help.
