I agree with LTF in N.C.I have a 584 diesel and without ever plugging it in it will start in southern Ontario's coldest mornings, it is amazing , the shut off lever set half way gives extra fuel to assist starting and the tractor bought new in 1985 has never failed to start. Yes, as LTF said you need to keep filters clean, The worst thing I;ve done is hook up to someone else's machinery and almost always I end up having to change the filter because their hydraulic juice is dirt contaminated. Thry are economical and a great all round tractor for their size.I blow snow all winter with mine, can't say enough about how well it will start. Value? I paid about 15g's for it new in '85, it would likely still bring 10G's I don't think you'll be disappointed. Good luck from Mike soldan in Exeter Ontario.
