Super M clutch linkage

While I was backing a trailer load of fire wood into the garage yesterday, the clutch began banging and jerking. I found a tapered bolt with two rubber backed washers laying on the ground just below the hydraulic unit. When I tried to pull out of the garage, the clutch linkage shaft going into the bell housing was jumping in and out about a half inch. Would the bolt and washers be the connecting link to the throw out arm? What will have to take apart to get to this to replace it? Any help is appreciated.
