T340 hydrolic problems

After years of use and abuse, I decided to go through my T340. It got everything; New engine,clutch, steering clutches, under carriage, etc. etc. When I got it done, I filled the case with fluid and put in a new filter. It sounded like it was starving for fluid. I changed the filter again, then I put in a new pump and suction tube with seal. I also snaked out the case suction tube. It still sang... I removed the filter and refilled the case. No noise. I removed the spring loaded plug from the screen strainer which seems to have cured the problem. But, I am concerned that the screen may become over-worked and fail. I should mention that I am not comfortable with the froth that is being generated in the fluid. Can anyone tell me if I have missed something?
