Were you mowing the area that is shown in the picture? If so I would think the electric clutch could have played a part in a fire. Grass that high and thick is too much for that mower in my honest opinion. We have the same unit here and have mowed literally hundreds of acres over a nine year period. This spring we had a kid attempt to mow grass that had reached a level not quite as high and thick as shown in your snapshot and the PTO burnt to a crisp with flames at the electrical plug. Combine that with a possible oil leak and boom. Glad no one or property besides the mower was hurt.
