David and Dean, Thanks for the information. That clarifies things quite a bit. I do have a related inquiry. The cover plate that I am removing looks as if it has a 3/8" port on it that faces toward the seat at about a 45 degree angle. What is that port for? I assume it attaches at the top of the standpipe but for what?
