Yep. That button on the transmission cover near yur gear shift is the starter button. (Unless you have a really early 9n where the starter button is on the dash). You can test iffn the switch is bad by jumpering around it. Make sure that your trans is in neutral. Then jump from the negative (hot) terminal of your battery directly to the big stud on the starter. If your starter motor spins then i would guess that your starter switch is bad. You could also have bad connections on the battery/starter switch/starter motor/ground strap.
