Thanks - I did look at your pics in the reply on the other board.
It has the timing cover for the angle mount distributor.
You can (barely) see the bolt that holds it in place (from rotating). Only the timing cover for the angle mount has this - from the pic anyway.
I know there are many other more serious things to change before this engine could be placed in a tractor (such as the oil pan). I hope to get a better pic next time out. The "lumber" was bolted on to the block by previous owner - or I would have removed it (no tools with me).
