Glenn,Your springs were correct originally,Long blue spring in front,smaller dia.red spring in the rear to the top shoe.And larger dia. green spring to the rear side bottom shoe.9N and 2n brakes were never the best,but gear oil soaked on then for years made them not worth two hoots.Install some new gaskets to,I use Locktite or 3M flange sealer.
