A garage used to clamp his batteries on this way without the charger , but must've known what he was doing and not for long. Would seem like they were charging batteries by induction off the coils, but don't know and maybe there was a rectifier in the charger. Ours was a 180 amp and there was a duty cycle on back of case with the voltage which would be a decal I believe on the case. Being a copper wound unit it was higher. The salesman said you could leave them weld continouse with them, but if you checked the manual it did have a duty cycle and on the low end was very high.
