I have been fixin this tractor up for about 2 years as was neglected and been replacing anything I haven't touched and keeping old for spares. It's getting plenty of fuel, as this was something initially checked and it has new filter (proper one) and new fuel line also. tank was cleaned 6 months ago when I had off to put in new clutch and transmission seals/gaskets. The radiator overflow is not dripping onto the distributor either. Compression even though this engine is older, is still between 84-86lbs and that is consistent for all cylinders.
Spark plugs are new and gapped to specifications as well as the points at .15 per specifications.
New plug wires, new cap, new rotor, new points, i put in the new condensor this afternoon and it ran consistently great, but is beginning it's normal routine of fouling up after running a while.
I changed out the coil a year ago, but is about the only thing I haven't changed on this particular issue. However, I have checked the voltage coming into and out of coil, and the voltages are okay.
I have gone over every where to ensure good connections too. This has still got me more puzzled than ever! I never had something ever so fickle!

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
