Hey folks,
Decided to hang onto my little tractor and just live with the leak and borderline HP (24HP) for hay work because it's fine for my other chores.
However, local kid that keeps me in line as far as the tractor goes has a kind of hobby/side business of buying stuff cheap (usually broke) on ebay, fixing and going thru it and selling ready to work/put on the road with inspection, etc. He just found a 42 HP IHC that is the next generation from mine with live PTO, direct injection, and a couple other goodies along with cheaper and more availability on parts. And a rubber rear main seal!!! Problem with the motor but everything else is supposed to be fine but has a bunch of hours. Not the prettiest, but not tore up. He offered to get it, put a rebuilt motor (from a shop) in it, give it the going over and give it to me as a straight trade for my tractor and I keep my new tires and frt loader (if it can be adapted).
I'm sure he already has a plan or someone that wants mine but I could have a tractor that fits everything I need to do and not be out any bucks.
Sound like a deal, or something to pass on???
If Hendrik is reading, the other tractor is a 423.
Dave

Since we can’t actually talk to our tractors, though some of the older sect of farmers might disagree, we use our five physical senses to observe and construe what our iron age friends are trying to tell us. We have already talked about some of the colors the unit might leave as clues to its well-being. Now we are going to use our noses to diagnose particular smells. ELECTRICAL SMELLS
