In my mid 60's, been feelin' old lately.
Coffee buddies and I can't figure out, for the life of us, why some of the young folks styles could ever be considered attractive by anyone. Especially the young lady this morning, who had pink and blonde hair that looked like it was cut with hedge shears. She was pretty, if you ignored the hair.
Woman my age that I deal with regularly complains that when young folks ask a question, they speak so fast that you have to take a second to assimilate it, then if you don't answer instantly, they patiently repeat the question like you're a moron.
Along the same lines, I was trying to get computer help from a help line- The girl is doing the best she can, but English is a second language for her, and I just can't understand it all, no matter how hard I try. Finally resort to "um-hmm" repeatedly until she thinks we have reached a resolution, then we ring off. I call again, hoping to get someone I can understand.
I'm hesitant to stay overnight at any of my kids' houses, because my split-shift sleeping schedule (sleep 10 PM to 1; TV 1-3; sleep (or try to) 3 to 6) is difficult to explain, especially if I wake up the grandkids. And hard to carry out, since none of them have TV.
And wife of 41 years, bless her heart, that keeps my secrets and does her best to cover for me.
