Highway Patrol officer approches the driver of a vehicle he just pulled over. Officer slaps the driver's head and said "let's see your license and insurance card". Officer calls in the license, returns to the car and slaps the driver again and says "here's your ticket, sign it". After taking the signed ticket and giving the driver his copy, officer slaps him a third time and says"slow it down and don't pull away yet". Officer walked around the car and told the passerger to roll his window down. Officer slaps the passenger and told him "just so you don't wait until a mile down the road and say I dare that %*#^ob@!* to hit me like that. The moral has to do with speaking directly to those we wish to discredit or belittle instead talking around to draw inferences. I began hunting as a child and still do as often as a friend or family member will go with me. From my experience, land owners come in about the same flavors as the general population. Some good, some not so good and others that seem to work tirelessly at being downright impossiable. I have never felt the need to put age groups professions, regional residence, hobbys and such in a piticular catagory, especialy idiots. However, like most everyone,I am willing to state my opinions. I have known some pretty tough men including military special forces and law enforcment. I don't believe any of them would confront multiple armed, drunken or mentaly unstable(idiots) parties alone if they had the option of calling reinforcement or a third party(police). I wouldn't call anyone idiot for wading in on a situation like that instead of calling the police but I would certainly question the wisdom. I am offended by being grouped based on my choice of recreation wherther it be hunting or fixing a tractor that will never return the investment simply because modern machines in my barn make it obsolete.
